Since the pandemic swept through and changed our world in more ways than one, it has been made clear that our lives would have to be altered, for the time being, to accommodate for the virus’ impact.

How has your productivity been lately? I don’t know about you, but when we were all in quarantine, being productive was not the first thing on my mind.

As we continue social distancing and adjusting to our current situation, here are some key ways to stay both productive and engaged in a socially-distanced time.

Start the day off right

The morning is an essential part of setting yourself up for the best possible day ahead. According to entrepreneur.com, concrete goals made in the morning for the day leads to better productivity. This, in turn, allows for “...increases in confidence and feelings of control” within the day.

Creating an ideal routine that is realistic for you to set the day on the right path is essential to staying productive right now.

Make a Plan

Routines might seem like a given, but getting into a groove that works for you when it comes to working hard and getting what needs to be done requires a set plan for the day.

In my experience, having a planner or utilizing sticky notes on my laptop and so on has truly helped me to stay on track with what I would like to accomplish within my everyday. I enjoy staying on track, mainly, because it allows me to make the best use of my time in the business of my day, whether that be in school or in getting everyday tasks done.

Take Breaks

Although it might seem unproductive in hindsight, giving yourself wiggle room to have free time allows you to have necessary breaks aside from the busyness that often dominates the day. Have a moment to do something you enjoy every so often - it makes the day seem much less dreadful!
