Thriving at work is an amazing feeling, and whether you’re your own boss, or you work for a company in an industry you love, there’s nothing worse than falling behind on your work, especially if you’re still putting one hundred and ten percent of your effort into every day. Luckily for you, the fix may be very simple and today we’re going to give you some tips on how to get back on top of your game at work if you’ve found yourself falling behind a little.

Get more sleep

It’s easy to fall behind if you’re tired, because your brain won’t be working as quickly as it normally does. While you might be up later at night thinking about work - or possibly putting in more hours - you’re not doing yourself any favours by staying up later than you can handle. Aim for 7-9 hours sleep every night so that you can wake up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle your workload.

If you’re struggling to fall asleep at night, why not try out sleep hypnosis? There are loads of free or cheap apps you can download straight to your phone, and you’ll fall asleep to a soothing tune and wake up feeling great!

Visit your audiologist

You may be falling behind at work because you’re simply not hearing everything - and that’s not your fault! If you haven’t ever experienced any hearing problems, then you may not notice when you do have one! Visit your audiologist for a pure tone hearing test. This is the most common form of hearing test, and can help determine any problems you have with your hearing. It could mean a simple clear out of wax build up, or you may need treatment such as a hearing aid.

Have your eyes tested

Much like your hearing, if you’re not seeing everything, then it’s easy to miss out on important information at work. Have your eyes tested to see if you need glasses, or if your current glasses need a new prescription. Something as simple as a clearer prescription on your glasses may help you pick up the tempo and get back on top of your game at work!

Take a personal day

It’s easy to fall behind when your mind is somewhere else, especially if you’ve got troubles at home. While it’s important to remain professional at work, sometimes home life can take over and distract you from your work. Take a day or two to get your personal problems in order so that you can return to work without any distractions.

Speak to your boss

Finally, if you’re having issues at work and you’re noticing that the quality of your work isn’t your best, speak to your boss or colleagues for advice. They may have noticed problems and provide solutions to help you get back to where you want to be. Additionally, if you are having troubles outside of work, it will give you the chance to let your boss know that you’re trying to resolve them.
