Fun Lockdown Date Night Ideas to Try!

Date nights are so important in relationships, they give you quality time together to enjoy each other’s company and just be a couple. Usually date nights are a great opportunity to try something new, however, with the current Covid-19 situation, getting out and doing anything at all isn't really possible. Instead, we need to find ways to connect and enjoy our time together without leaving the house. If you already live together and are looking for fun date night ideas, here are some to consider.

Cook a meal

Cooking a nice meal to enjoy can be a great way to spend some time with your partner, maybe you could enjoy the cooking and prep process together or you could surprise them and make something you know they’ll enjoy. Now that supermarket stock levels are pretty much back to normal you should be able to find all of the ingredients you need, plus cooking and baking are great ways to enjoy your quarantine time. You could find a three course menu on Pinterest and replicate it with some wine, or cook one of their favourites. Set the table, play some soft music and enjoy a romantic meal at home together.

Movie night

With streaming services like Netflix and Amazon there’s always an abundance of great movies to watch on tv. Cinemas might be closed but you can still make movie night fantastic, pop some popcorn (most supermarkets sell the kernals you can pop in a pan or packets you can do in the microwave) or gather up some snacks and get cosy on the sofa. Alternatively you could binge watch a series you’ve heard great things about but never had time to watch until now.

At home spa

Everyone loves a bit of pampering, if you have some nice products you can use then why not make the most of them? Light some candles, enjoy a hot bubble bath and put on face masks together. You could give each other massages and generally use the time to just relax and unwind. You’ll reduce your stress levels and your hair, nails and skin will feel so much better for it. Many of us are rocking dirty pyjamas and messy hair for our quarantine look, so spending a bit of time looking after yourself could make the world of difference and make you feel good about yourself again.

Games evening

Games are fantastic ways to have a bit of healthy competition and a lot of fun, unlike with watching movies and tv, games encourage you to talk and laugh together which is what we all need to be doing at a time like this. From board games to computer games, apps and card games there are loads of options that will suit you.
