So what do you need to do to prepare for mountain climb?

Get a full physical

It is very important that you do not have any medical conditions that could prove to be an impediment during the mountain climb. Get a full physical examination and disclose everything to your doctor. Leaving out pertinent information can get you into a lot of trouble.

Get a full body workout

To climb a mountain, you need overall body strength and you can only do this by getting the right kind of exercise. Combine cardio with leg exercises and a total body workout. Exercises like squats and press ups will help you build muscle strength as well as endurance.

Do as many exercises as you can including biking, swimming, running up and down trails or stairs so as to condition your body for the upcoming climb.

Set personal goals with the training and make sure you achieve them. This will help you know whether the training is working or not. If the training does not seem to be working then you may need to switch it up or add a few more routines to make it more effective

Acclimatize

Forget about working in the gym all the time. You need to ensure that you acclimatize your body to the outdoors.  Include hikes in your exercise routine; carry a backpack with the climbing gear to help you get an idea of how heavy it can be. Test any equipment you may use to ensure that it is in good working condition.

Change your diet

Nutrition is important especially because you will be training much harder than you normally would. This may not be the time to consider losing weight because you need all the energy you can get for the training as well as the actual climb. Increase your protein and fat uptake so that you can store enough energy, cut down on the caffeine, alcohol, and cigarettes.

By following a proper regimen and mentally preparing yourself for the mountain climb, you will undoubtedly be able to muster the climb.
