What is your Body Telling You?
We can often be so busy we miss the signs our body is showing us, missing small signals can lead to bigger issues.
Sometimes it can be as simple as a mild allergy, other times, it can be something more serious than we should be seeking medical care for.
Metallic taste
It can be a strange moment when you get a metallic taste in your mouth. It is something that isn’t uncommon in pregnancy, and sometimes if we have brushed our teeth and there is a bit of blood around the gums. Other times a strong metallic taste in the mouth could be a sign there is something going on with your kidneys.
Aching Jaw
The aching jaw can be from a few different things. Some of us keep a lot of our stresses in and we tense our jaws for most of the day. That can carry over into the evening, and you might be suffering from TMJ.
Often a sign of a toothache, but occasionally a sign of Lyme disease. Keep note of the frequency of the pain and if it comes and goes at regular intervals.
Dry eyes
In the age of the screen, dry eyes can just be a sign that you are spending too much time at your computer and need to take longer breaks. However, there are some autoimmune diseases that have consistently dry eyes as one of their symptoms.
If you regularly have dry eyes, this is one to take to your doctor.
Period pain
Many women experience light period pain, but for some, it is a crippling pain that renders them unable to function. Periods are already often uncomfortable but if you find that you have severe cramps, it can be worth a discussion with your doctor to check for endometriosis.
