Five Things That Are A Sign Of Age
Aging is something that comes to us because not to be morbid, but we’re all heading towards the inevitable, right? With that being said, some of us try and take preventative measures to fend off aging but not everything can simply be fixed with a cosmetic procedure or a change in your lifestyle. Some things just happen naturally and there’s nothing you can really do to stop it. With that being said, here are five things that are a sign of age.
Your Hands
A big tell of your age can often be on your body itself. Usually, the face can show signs of aging just by looking at previous photos of you some three or four years ago. You may start to get wrinkles on the face or you may find a few strands of grey hair starting to form. However, there’s one area of the skin that you can’t really do too much with and is the biggest sign of your aging. Your hands. And we use our hands for everything, just like our feet are the base of our body. We use our hands to feel around for things, to touch things and to use them in our daily tasks. They are also one of the main areas of the body that do tend to wrinkle easily and the most you can really do to help prevent it temporarily is with botox or by getting hand lifts.
However, not every cosmetic procedure is a permanent fix and when it comes to your hands, it’s often the biggest tell of a person and their age.
Forgetting Things
We often have times where we’re forgetful. It might be that you’re failing to pay attention to the person or thing that’s going on around you and that is likely going to be why you’ve forgotten what you were meant to remember. However, aging also affects your brain and the ability to retain information. So naturally, a lot of what you thought you’d remember forever, starts to fade. It’s not something that’s particularly enjoyable but we have photos to serve as memories and that’s why it’s important to try and capture your life wherever you can.
When you find yourself being more forgetful, it’s always good to help train your brain with puzzles and brain-stimulating activities. It’s also good to get your health checked to make sure that it’s nothing more serious either.
Hearing Loss
One of the natural signs of aging can come with your hearing. If you don’t look after your hearing earlier on in life, then it’s not going to help greatly for your hearing as you get older. Our hearing is a valuable sense for our body and so many of us will undervalue its need until you start to lose it or lose it completely. It’s good to take the steps to prevent hearing loss when you’re younger so that when you begin to lose it naturally, it’s not still at an age where it’s really important to have it.
In order to prevent hearing loss, try to look after your hearing in different ways. Keep your ears dry and don’t allow yourself to listen to dangerously loud music. Wear ear protection when in environments where there’s loud noise or sounds as this can really damage your ears otherwise.
Feeling Nostalgic About Younger Years
Ever find yourself looking back at pictures of your childhood or getting a reminder of something that you used to love a couple of decades ago. Yes, that’s going to make you feel ancient and it’s an often unwelcome reminder of how old you are too. Feeling nostalgic about your younger years can often come with mixed emotions. Positive emotions because it’s nice to be reminded of something and negative in the way that it’s a reminder of how long ago that time was.
If you’re feeling upset about this, then try to stop yourself feeling sad in these moments. Instead, make it something positive and something you want to look back on in the future. Your past shouldn’t be something to be sad about after all!
Your Body’s Reaction To Exercise
You could be the fittest person on the planet, but as you get older, your body starts to deteriorate and so exercise can often take a toll on your body. It’s not necessarily a bad thing but the soreness and how much your body can do might be worse than what it once was.
This is a reminder to live your life to the fullest and to enjoy your youth for as long as possible.
