Umbrella Street

In Agueda, a municipal of Portugal, there are hundreds of colorful umbrellas that line the streets in July. Usually over promenades, these umbrellas not only provide shade for pedestrians but they also give them something beautfiul and interesting to look at.

The tradition started several years ago when artist Sextafeira installed them in the streets of Agueda. Its creation was originally part of the Agitagueda art festival but continues today as a friendly reminder of the beauty in the small things!
