Four Reasons to Work for Yourself
Working for yourself is an exciting prospect but many people dream of it but don't really follow through with it. It's difficult to know that you want something but you don't know how to make that leap into a reality.
The idea of being your own boss, setting your own hours, and having complete control over your career can be incredibly appealing. There are definite challenges to running your own business, but there are plenty of reasons why working for yourself can be something that you should take the leap on. Here are four reasons why you should go for it.
1. For the freedom and the flexibility. One of the biggest perks that come with working for yourself is the freedom to set your schedule for yourself so that you work when you want to. If you're a night owl, you can decide to work through the night. If you're an early bird, you could get started with your Pilates classes early. For example, if you're a Pilates instructor or you're planning on getting your Pilates instructor certification, you can choose to teach classes in the mornings, the afternoons, or even in the evenings based on your lifestyle, your personal preferences, and the preferences of your clients. You don't have to worry about office hours, and you can structure your day in a way that suits you.
2. You can pursue your passions. When you choose to work for yourself, you have the opportunity to do something that you want, not something that you have to do. A lot of people take the plunge into self employment because they want to turn their passion into a career full time. For example, if you love fitness, becoming an instructor of any of the classes or starting your own studio could be a dream come true. You can then spend your days helping others while doing something you love and earning money at the same time. You don't have to be stuck somewhere that doesn't excite you.
3. You have unlimited earning potential. An excellent park to work for yourself is the opportunity to earn more money than you ever thought possible. It all depends on the amount of effort that you're happy to put in. When you work for a company, your salary is going to be fixed and there are limited opportunities for increases unless you receive a promotion. However, as your own boss, your income potential is entirely in your own hands. The harder you work and the more creative you get, the more money you can make. You will be the leader, and you will be the one pushing your own career forward as a result.
4. The potential for growth. Working for yourself is great for making money and for that flexible schedule and we've mentioned both of these points. But the personal growth that comes with it is also an incredibly attractive thing to think about. When you work for a traditional company, you might feel limited by office politics or rigid structures and the lack of control. When you work for yourself, you have the freedom to make the decisions for yourself and grow on your own terms.
