Often, you’ll hear about the glass ceiling in Hollywood or really any industry. There’s definitely a lot of evidence that most women do face a ceiling when they try and earn a higher salary or gain a stronger position in their career. As of June 2018, Swift was worth $280 million. Incredibly, she hasn’t even turned thirty yet, and she is certainly rolling in cash. That’s not surprising because even using sellers like Captain Ticket, getting seats for her shows is incredibly difficult. Swift has also shown herself to be a highly skilled businesswoman. As well as investing in various areas, she recently set up a campaign where fans who bought merchandise were rewarded with a higher chance of getting better seats at her concerts! This was a smart move and assumably paid off as since starting this campaign, she has used it for every show since.

You might think that Oprah isn’t worth much money. After all, how could she be? She’s given away everything from cars to homes on her show in the past. But those days are behind her and as well as being a skilled actress Oprah is also a highly skilled business woman. She has a number of ventures which is why it’s not surprising that she is worth a massive $2.9 billion! Recent talk has surrounded the possibility of her running for president. The icon has all but ruled out this possibility, but there are many who would certainly like to see her take office. Particularly, after the empowering speech, she gave at this years Oscars.

J.K Rowling has faced a lot of criticism, even among fellow writers who have suggested that she isn’t actually that talented. Whether you believe that to be true or not, one can’t deny she has an incredible gift for spinning stories. Those who thought she was a one-hit wonder have also been proven wrong. Since Harry Potter, Rowling has released several other books, many of which were directed at adults. She’s even working on a brand new book for children, separate from the Harry Potter Universe. While she might be worth more than a billion dollars, she shows no signs of slowing down.

Finally, we have to at least mention Kylie Jenner. Controversy mounted recently after Forbes described the reality star as a self-made billionaire and one of the youngest of all time. While many immediately pointed out the Jenner was not actually self-made and had ridden the coat tales of her older siblings. However, the article was actually about her footsteps into the business world.. Jenner has started a business for lip products. While it’s certainly true that the 20-year-old has benefitted from her famous family, she definitely seems to have a strong business sense as well.
