Smarter Travel: Life-Saving Hacks For Your Summer Vacation

Okay, so the following travel hacks won’t necessarily save your life (although one of them might), but they will guarantee you a less stressful vacation. You want to have a good time after all, so we are here to ensure nothing sabotages your holiday. Have a read, and if you have any travel hacks of your own, be sure to share them with us.

Hack#1: How to alleviate boredom on the journey

You’ve finished your favourite book, your music playlist is getting tired, and you may have no wifi to keep you connected to the rest of the world (especially if you are travelling by car).

Tip: Load up all of your favourite YouTube videos onto your MP3 player by using a youtube to mp3 converter. Whether its music or fashion tips, you will never be short of something to listen to, and you can mix and match your content according to your wide and varied interests.

Hack #2: How to stay healthy on holiday

Don’t let your fitness regime fall flat on your holiday. Especially when you have put in a lot of work to make sure you look good when rocking your beach fashion, you don’t want to undo your good work with bad habits while away.

Tip: Download a health app. This will ensure you stay in touch with your fitness goals and will give you tips on how to achieve them. You can also check out vital information that could just save your life, with info on medical and health conditions that will alert you to any problems you face while away.

Hack #3: How to keep your valuables safe

Your holiday will be ruined if some pesky miscreant robs your purse of all your holiday savings. Not only will you struggle to pay for those all-important knick-knacks, but you won’t have any money for the essentials - we are talking food and drink, and not something else to go in your wardrobe. Diva!

Tip: For starters, don’t carry cash around with you if there are ATM’s around the place. Your bank or credit company will be able to help you if you get yourself in a bind. Still, if you do want to carry cash, there are all kinds of places to hide your money, including those places where the sun doesn’t shine. From the bottom of your shoe to an empty (and cleaned out) sunscreen bottle, here are some other hiding places you might find useful.

Hack #4: How to avoid getting lost

You’re in an unfamiliar locale, and you don’t know where to turn. If you are already lost, you don’t want to wind up in deeper trouble by taking the wrong path elsewhere. Especially if the locals don’t look all that friendly!

Tip: Again, your smartphone is your friend, as there really are apps for everything. Download one of these navigation apps, ensuring you are always going in the right direction, whether you are heading somewhere in your car or getting about on foot.
