5 Ways To Treat Yourself Every Single Day

We can all be very hard on ourselves sometimes. We expect a lot, and we don’t always treat or reward ourselves. I’ve recently decided to do something good for myself each and every day. Because… why not? We all deserve a little happiness every day, and you can’t wait around for someone else to do it for you!

So, treat yourself. Stop feeling guilty, and let yourself enjoy life. Once you make this simple decision, life becomes more fun, and the pressure lifts. How do I treat myself? A luxury coffee every morning, and a glass of wine in the evening. I also like to indulge in a good book, and treat myself to the power of words. They’re small treats, but it just helps keep you going sometimes!

Indulge in your favourite things

Like I said, I love to treat myself to a premium coffee in the morning. A glass of wine in the evening is another one. You can do the same, and indulge in your favourite treats. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, don’t feel so guilty about enjoying some chocolate in the evening. See it as a reward rather than a misstep. If you’re a smoker, treat yourself to a flavoured cigar from Swisher Sweets. Everyone has their vices, and it’s an uphill battle to fight them all the time! So enjoy it once in awhile.

Find some peace and quiet

Sometimes, the ultimate treat is just being alone with your thoughts. After the constant noise of the day, it’s not always easy to find some peace and quiet. But, once you’ve put the kids to bed, treat yourself to an hour’s quiet time to sit still. Perhaps you could take a long bath, or do a little meditation. Anything that allows you to shut off the world for a second will help.

Exercise

For some people, exercise is absolutely not a treat! However, for me, it’s a real luxury. To get out on a bike and cycle into the countryside is a treat. So is hitting the roads for a long run. For others, going climbing or getting stuck into team sports is a treat too. It helps relieve your stress, and it releases good vibes in your brain. It feels good, and it helps burn off the calories from those little indulgences we had before!

Let yourself off the hook

We all hold onto weird guilt in our heads. We obsess over something we said or did. We made a mistake at work, and we let it follow us around for days. We had an argument with a friend or partner, and you can’t forgive yourself. It’s time to let yourself off the hook. People make mistakes, we’re not all perfect. Time to remember that, and move on. Feel that? It’s like a weight being lifted from your shoulders.

Talk to a friend or family member

Last of all, try to speak to a friend or family member every day. You need to make a connection outside your immediate circle of kids and work colleagues. It helps you feel better, and they can help you see clearly. It’s a treat, and one that costs nothing at all.
