Some Awesome At-Home Stress-Relieving Activities

You should not need any excuses for why you want to take it easy some days. As the world becomes more populated and economies become larger than ever before, more and more people will see work as their only lifestyle. That is a sad commentary of modern life and it's not something we should be proud of. Working is all for nothing if we’re not enjoying life. But since we have been living this way for so long, some of us have actually forgotten what it was like to be calm and centered. Since you're at home now due to the lockdown, use this time to teach yourself some awesome stress-relieving activities.

Sketching isn’t doodling
Some of the greatest artists to have ever lived began their journey by sketching. Doodling is when you’re drawing things is not much detail and you’re just wandering around in your mind, daydreaming. Sketching, on the other hand, is when you are using simple tools but you’re really trying to bring to life the images in your mind. It's the most basic form of art, anyone can do at home. All you need is a sketch pad, which uses different paper to notebooks. You’ll need some sketching pencils which have thicker wooden shafts and denser lead centers. Now, look online for some easy sketching techniques. You’ll learn how to shape items, make small details that eventually grow to full-scale and learn some great pencil strokes.

Routine is fun?

Some activities like cross-stitching have spread far and wide in a matter of a couple of years because anyone can do them and they are fun. But what if there was an evolution of this type of activity and you could make some incredible pictures at home, that sparkle and dazzle you? Diamond painting is a mixture of paint by numbers and cross-stitching. This allows you to create some very detailed and truly amazing pictures. But, these cannot be done in one day. They take time and routine commitment to complete. So you’ll need to familiarize yourself with ways to store your diamond painting. Wax paper over the top and moving the painting to a large flat area is the best option. Putting all your rhinestones into a storage box with stows for each color, organizes the task you have ahead of you.

Sharing your poetry

Did you know that once upon a time, poetry was seen as one of the most masculine activities? In the Middle Ages, kings and queens were taught poetry right from the day they could speak, read and write. It's a powerful way to express what you’re feeling, as you make succinct observations of life but use subtle language to express emotion. Online poetry sharing competitions are open to everyone. Joining one of these societies that host competitions, could be one of the best things you do during this lockdown.

Do you feel like you don’t really know how to relax anymore? Becoming obsessed with work-life can do that to you. But the lockdown is the perfect moment for everyone to unlearn this way of not living.
