Bulgarian Folklore Known Around the World

I am from Bulgaria - the country of roses and wonderful folk songs, that are singing all over the world. The rhythm is incredible, unique and beautiful. The Bulgarian folk art was created by our ancestors and passed on to every generation. Here you can see folk instruments, you have not seen before, and you can  touch to Bulgarian folklore and to love Bulgaria forever.

Maybe a few of you know that Valia Balkan's song "Delyu the Outlaw has Gone Out," sounds in the space of the Voyager shuttle, is Bulgarian. The song is chosen among thousands of others as a greeting to all civilizations in the Universe.

"Prituri se planinata" in the performance of Stefka Sabotinova is another world-famous song. Bulgarian folk songs, apart from having a specific rhythm, have very meaningful text. This song tells how the mountain was destroyed and buried two shepherds. The first is praying to let him go, because a woman is waiting for him at home; the second begs to let him go, because his mother is waiting for him at home. The answer to the mountain is, that she will release the second, because the mother loves to death. The song is in the soundtrack of the movie Set up 4 revolutions, along with songs by Justin Bibber and Jennifer Lopez.
“Zaidi, zaidi, iasno slunce” / "Come on, go clear sun"/ is another Bulgarian folk song, used in the movie "300." Production Composer Taylor Bates in 2007 admitted, that he wrote his production really on the basis of this song. By that time the music was presented as his author's.

Folklore festivals are often organized in Bulgaria, that present songs from different parts of Bulgaria. This is a true celebration of music - they take place in nature, which combines with music and creates a magical picture.

The Bulgarian ensembles "Pirin" and "The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices" are well-known worldwide. "Pirin" has made world tours, crossed the whole world, impressed Japan and the United States. They are the symbol of Bulgaria, combining Bulgarian folk music and dancing. Anywhere else you will not see the dance "ruchenica", which is intact 7/8, you have never heard of such rhythms. You will be stunned when you see on the stage 20 pairs of legs dancing fast and light. The music is live, the sounds of the kaval and the bagpipe will take you somewhere in the mountains of Bulgaria.
