California Dreamin': Fun Things to Do in CA

California is one of those places that a lot of us are instantly drawn to; it’s sunny, warm, welcoming and the home of Hollywood, so it’s hardly surprising that it’s such a popular tourist trap!

If you’ve decided it’s time to do some California Dreamin’ of your own, here are some of the most fun things to do while you’re there:

Visit the Walk of Fame

Okay, so this one is pretty cliche, but really who wants to go to California without soaking up a t least a little celebrity culture? Walking down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which takes up a staggering 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard, and which is home to more than 2,600 stars, trying to spot your favorite, and getting angry when you realize they don’t have a star is pretty much a must do!

Get into the Pioneer Spirit

One of the most fun places to visit in Cali’ is the Pioneer Museum, which is located in the Paso Robles area, not far from The Oaks Hotel - which is a great place to stay while you’re in town. The museum gives you a real taste of what it would have been like for the pioneers all those years ago, and with a replica jail cell and some pretty convincing examples of various other pioneer town staples, it’s a great place to take yourself some selfies.

Get Spooked out at the Winchester Mystery House

The Winchester Mystery House is one of the most famous houses in the world, not only because this San Jose property is made up of more than 160 rooms, 10,000 windows and 2,000 doors, but also because many of those doors do not lead to anywhere, and many of those windows aren’t exactly what they seem. You see, the mansion’s Mrs Sarah Winchester was convinced that she was being haunted by the spirits of all those poor folks killed by the Winchester rifle- created of course, by her family - and she was also convinced that endlessly adding to the building would keep her safe. Her insanity has led to a pretty amazing, not to mention spooky, property.

Get Lost in Magowan's Infinite Mirror Maze

Magowan's Infinite Mirror Maze is a fabulous attraction in the San Francisco area, which you’ll particularly love if you’re a fan of the 60s psychedelic vibe because that’s exactly what this maze is made of. Neon lights only visible by backlighting, confusing mirrors, pumping rave music all serve to disorientate you as you try to find your way around. It’s like art and science came together to confuse you, and they succeeded and all for a $5 entry fee!

Get Your Science on by Seeing Griffith Observatory's Tesla Coil

Griffin Observatory in LA is home to a Tesla Coil, and if you want to be wowed by science, you should certainly drop by to see it in action. You’ll be blown away as you see pure raw electricity being created right in front of your very eyes.

Have a rad time in Cali’!
