Love Island: Small Destinations With Big Romantic Impact

When it comes to booking a getaway with the one you love, destination is key. Admittedly, anywhere can become a romantic haven when you’re together. But, some destinations are undeniably better for fanning the flames of passion.

For obvious reasons, exclusivity and peaceful surroundings are your best bet here. And, no vacation destination is better for that than an island getaway. Imagine how amazing it would feel to block out (most of) the rest of the world, and sail away to a love island of your own. Finally, you would understand why so many couples book island retreats as honeymoons.

Of course, any old island won’t work. The exclusivity factor will, admittedly, always be a part of getaways like these. But, an uninspiring and undeveloped island will see your break turning more Castaway than romantic stay. So, which islands would do a better job at helping your romance roam?

Bora Bora

You may have heard of a little place called Bora Bora. This island, northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia, is a top spot for honeymooners. And, it’s easy to see why. In fact, this destination has such romantic ability that it’s hailed as one of the most romantic destinations in the world. Which is, perhaps, a self-fulfilling prophecy. Most resorts here are geared towards couples-vacations. Hence the need for the islands iconic over-water private bungalows. Here, you can sit on your decking and have a romantic meal for two paddled to you in a canoe. Not to mention that you don’t need to worry about neighbors in one of these babies. You don’t need us to tell you why that’s a plus point on your getaway for two.

Galapagos

The Galapagos Islands in the Pacific Ocean are also worth your attention. Here, it’s less the accommodation, and more the surroundings which will bring you and your lover closer. Don’t get us wrong, there are plenty of romantic rooms in Galapagos which can also go some way towards keeping love strong. But, perhaps the most romantic capability of this destination is its wildlife and stunning scenery. There’s good reason Galapagos has a reputation as one of the best places to view wildlife in the world. Here, you stand to see plant life and creatures you won’t find anywhere else in the world. And, experiencing such stunning sights with the person you love can only be a good thing.

Mauritius

If neither of the above takes your fancy, why not head to a destination like Mauritius? This island nation in the Indian Ocean could be the ideal middle ground. Here, you’ll find romantic getaways to rival those in Bora Bora. The white sand beaches and spa-style resorts could be the perfect way to show a little loving. At the same time, Mauritius has some natural sights to behold which rival even those in Galapagos. Destinations like Seven Colored Earth are sure to ignite a love for all things beautiful. And, obviously, beauty doesn’t get much better than your one and only.
