Winter Days Out in Perth Australia

Winter Days Out in Perth Australia

When you think of winter, you typically don’t think of June, unless you live in the southern hemisphere! Winter in Australia is from June to September when most of us are thinking about buying new bikinis. It really does set things upside down. So while most of the articles you read at this time of year are for summer holiday guides in warm weather. But not everyone is so fortunate with the weather.

Perth is known for its sunny skies, beautiful beaches and a host of things to do in the sunshine. But what about when the weather isn’t quite so hot. Unfortunately, hibernation isn’t an option, as much as it may seem like an attractive proposition. It's easy to get down when the skies are dark and grey, so it pays to keep yourself busy. After all, there’s no point in wasting your time; you’ll only regret not making the most of it later on. We’re here for a good time, not a long time. Don’t miss out on the chance to see new places or learn new things.

So what is there to do in Perth on a rainy day? You might be surprised. Mad Cow Entertainment have a pretty comprehensive guide of fun things to do. Here are some of the very best to keep you occupied.

Got toddlers? They can be notoriously hard to entertain. Head to Scitech in the last week of July for the answer to your prayers: it’s Toddlerfest 2016! From the 23rd to the 31st of July, there’s a whole week of shows and activities all about the little ones.

Marine Marvels

If you find marine life interesting, but don’t want to get wet, the AQWA is for you. You can get up close and personal with dangerous ocean creatures like sharks and stingrays. But you don’t have to worry - it’s all perfectly safe, and you are completely out of harm's way. AQWA isn't as new as you might think, if you visited Perth a while back, it might have been called Underwater world. You can observe the native animals of the stunning coastline, and see them at even closer quarters. There's a tunnel that goes underwater where you can watch the sea life swim overhead.

Perfect Pancakes and Sumptuous Steak

After a day out visiting the very best Perth has to offer, you’re going to be hungry. If you want to satisfy those hunger pangs in style then why not check out Panke? It’s an authentic Australian eaterie with a unique twist. Panke boasts of being the only Aussie steak and pancake house! You can make your own pancakes at your table, which can be very entertaining! The steaks are prime cuts of meat cooked to perfection, which is no less than you’d expect in Oz. After all,  it might just be the barbecue capital of the world. The locals certainly seem to think so.
