How Are Spirituality And Female Empowerment Connected?
Spirituality means different things to different people. Some people find comfort in worshipping a Christian god, where others find it in meditation and yoga instead. The theme throughout the world of personal spirituality is its ability to empower us. It helps us to connect with occurrences and our emotional well-being and builds pathways for that connection in the future. It enables us to feel comforted when something is outside of our control, and it helps up to create a community and support network around ourselves. Many women are turning to spirituality to help with their own feelings of empowerment, and here are a few reasons why.
It allows us to break out of chains
Everyone on this planet is restricted by our concepts of self-worth and societal, religious, and cultural restrictions which have typically oppressed woman throughout the ages. Well, the time has come in which women are reclaiming those restrictions. We’re breaking those chains, and becoming more and more aware of our strength and ability to take on the world. Anything which grows that inner strength, particularly meditation, and self-reflection, is a positive step towards banishing those old-fashioned systems.
We are able to connect with our thoughts
The world is hectic, noisy, and not entirely conducive to feeling at one with ourselves. We rush around to and from work, to and from hobbies, and rarely take the opportunity to spend quality time with ourselves. Everything else is a distraction. The only way self-care and rejuvenation can occur, is with regular opportunities to connect to our thoughts and reflect on how we feel. Spirituality is a great way to start to build those lines of communication for many women. A half hour of yoga before work is enough for many women to feel like they’ve completely overhauled their lives. People claim to feel more relaxed, more cheerful and see more balance in their moods and emotions.
We take control of our anxiety
With such a hectic world, it’s not surprising that almost 20% of adults in the USA deal with anxiety disorders at some point in their lives. Part of it can come from overstimulation, but also from a disconnect between what needs doing, and what is being done. Some women feel able to overcome anxiety by meditation, yoga, and even tarot card readings. With tarot cards, such as Readings With Matt, a person’s life direction is predicted. Whether you believe it or not, it’s a great way to really start to understand what you want for your future, and start to build the path that gets you there.
It creates a community
Finally, it seems a bit bizarre, but in the hustle and bustle of major cities, isolation is rife. The anonymity of walking down the street, of posting on the internet, and of being too busy to see friends can be seriously problematic for women. Spirituality allows a community, with other like-minded women on their quest to feel stronger and more grounded, to bloom. It creates friends, support groups, and encouragement, and if that’s not a positive thing, we don’t know what is.
